Pupils have an important part to play in helping their school make decisions. In this section you will find information about some of the activities your child takes part in during school.
At Westlea we pride ourselves on our Pupil Voice and leadership groups. We prioritise pupil voice in many forms.
In our weekly celebration assembly we encourage pupils to share talents, skills and experiences with the whole school therefore exposing others to opportunities/clubs available. We share ‘community news’ in our weekly school newspaper where parents/carers also find out of clubs and experiences their children could also be exposed to.
We have teams made up of pupil leaders from across the school who plan, develop and contribute to whole school development projects. Gathering and responding to pupil voice. Our Pupil Voice Teams include, School Council, Eco-Group, Rights Respecting, Digital Leaders, Art Leader and Play Ground Leaders.
These groups help make decisions across the school and are involved in developments and projects.
Other pupil groups meet weekly as part of pupil discussions with our Head Teacher.
Pupil voice can also make positive impact across schools- Y5 girls present a business model for raising funds for a bracelet shop.
Y4 pupils have begun a finger knitting club as part of their enrichment provision.
Pupils suggest clubs/events across school and have been heavily involved in developing outdoor provision including MUGA and wellness garden.
Pupils create their own clubs, with support from staff (E.g. Finger knitting)
If you require further information on any of the items shown in this section, please contact the school and we will do our best to help.
