Pupil Premium Steering Group
At Westlea Primary we have a Pupil Premium Steering Group which is made up of staff and Governors. The group oversees the spending of the Pupil Premium money and the provision that is put in place to support the Pupil Premium children, as well as the impact of these on pupil outcomes. This involves being active in school through such means as Learning Walks, as well as examining assessment data. This ensures that all the Pupil Premium children’s needs are being met and their progress maximised across school.
Sports Premium
The Government is providing funding of £150 million per annum for academic years 2013/14 and 2014/15 to provide new, substantial primary school sport funding. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary school headteachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.
The sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.
